HBF Textiles Wins Best of NeoCon Gold and Silver Awards
HBF Textiles wins ‘Best of NeoCon Gold’ in the Textiles, Upholstery category for In Your Skin designed by Erin Ruby. The collection marks Ruby’s third collaboration with HBF Textiles and the 20th anniversary of the ‘Stitch’ collection (2002). In Your Skin is a timely and refreshing woven fabric collection inspired by the human experience and the ephemeral nature of life. Featuring six sensorial textiles, each pattern encapsulates a respectful awareness of the transience of all things, which heightens our appreciation of their beauty.
Produced in 55 colorways, the textile patterns have an incredibly tactile and handmade quality to them, with performance attributes as a plus. The beauty of the collection is that it looks like a residential product and yet has the durability for contract and hospitality environments. Each of the fabrics in the collection are certified Indoor Advantage Gold (SCS), woven and manufactured in the United States with wool locally sourced from the Midwest, and most of the patterns are manufactured using post-consumer and/or recycled materials.
The collaboration continues HBF Textiles’ focus on the hand of the maker and its commitment to supporting women-owned businesses. In Your Skin is available online and through HBF showrooms starting July 5, 2022.
In addition to the ‘Best of NeoCon Gold’ award, Crumpled Paper was also awarded ‘Best of NeoCon Silver' in the Textiles, Performance & Specialty category and shortlisted in the HiP awards in the Workplace: Fabric & Wall Covering category. Designed by Mary Jo Miller, VP of Design and Creative Direction at HBF Textiles, Crumpled Paper is an artistic textile pattern inspired by crumpling different paper thicknesses to reach an optimum combination of shadow and light.
Crumpled Paper is HBF Textiles’ third pattern made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, containing a catalyst that makes the fabric 91%-93% biodegradable* vs. 6% for standard polyester, allowing it to decompose naturally in landfills. Crumpled Paper is a Clean Impact Textiles™ pattern that meets and exceeds performance standards for heavy-duty textiles and is assembled to appeal to high-performance contract projects and vertical applications.
